- While two-thirds of hospital administrators currently tie clinical supply chain integration initiatives to their budget, only 5 percent said clinical integration was their supply chain department's current priority.

Close to three quarters of hospital administrators stated that supply chain is tied to their cost management strategy, according to two recent surveys of hospital administrators (senior, financial, clinical, and operations professionals) sponsored by Nexera and Acurity to assess their understanding of supply chain, related pain points, and strategies for clinical integration, sustainable cost reduction, and operational efficiencies.

Fifty-three percent of respondents said their institution has performed a coordinated supply chain assessment in the last two years, with 78 percent saying that it met their objectives for cost reduction and operational improvement.
