- CipherHealth has announced a partnership with Google Cloud partner SADA to enable social determinant of health (SDOH) data integration in an effort to improve patient care.

"SADA, together with Google Cloud, has enabled us to provide our customers with new insights into their patient populations, giving them the power to make appropriate care delivery changes that directly impact patient care," Nate Perry-Thistle, chief technology officer at CipherHealth, said in a press release. "We look forward to our continued work together as we provide our customers with the tools to deliver better patient experiences."

Google Cloud's analytics platform Looker will collect SDOH data leveraging Embedded Analytics for its nearly 500 customers to support unique, tailored outreach messages.

Additionally, patient outreach messaging will be delivered to patients leveraging CipherHealth's automated communications solutions.

The automated communications messaging aims to support patient care access for required care.

By implementing the Google Cloud Looker solution, CipherHealth’s platform will support hospital access to data points such as race and ethnicity, gender, language, and age.

"Better data means better patient care, and we are thrilled to see that SADA's implementation of Google Cloud's Looker is helping CipherHealth and its customers improve the patient experience," said Tony Safoian, president and CEO at SADA. "It's clear that healthcare providers can be huge beneficiaries of fast, intelligent, and secure patient data, and we're excited to see what's to come."

This announcement is the latest health IT partnership involving Google Cloud. In 2022, LifePoint Health and Google Cloud started a multi-year strategic partnership to enhance data interoperability, patient monitoring, and virtual care.

Using the platform, clinicians can gain insights into patient records and perform analytics in near-real time, the press release noted. LifePoint’s implementation of the HDE will also support data interoperability across the organization’s large, disparate EMR systems.

Further, LifePoint and Google Cloud are focused on ensuring data security and privacy, the press release stated. The HDE platform leverages secure infrastructure and data storage that supports HIPAA compliance, in conjunction with LifePoint’s privacy, access, and use protocols for data, to protect patient information.
