- New Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare to Tackle COVID-19 Challenges
“We are pleased to be working with Change Healthcare and Adobe to drive real change in healthcare and deliver a richer, more engaging experience for consumers,” Patty Obermaier, vice president of US Health & Life Sciences at Microsoft, said in the press release.
“Coupling Microsoft® Azure’s flexible scalability and security with the connectivity of the Change Healthcare network was the key to speed the solution deployment.”
The Connected Consumer suite will also leverage the content delivery capabilities of Adobe® Experience Manager (Managed Services), the messaging functionalities of Marketo® Engage, and the data analysis insights of Adobe® Analytics, said Jack Hersey, vice president of US Life and Health Sciences at Adobe. Together, the capabilities will drive functions in the suite of technology that enable price comparisons and pre-pay services.
In order to establish a more enriching consumer experience, patient engagement must evolve to satisfy both patient and provider demands.
Connected Consumer Health aims to provide a streamlined patient experience and helps individuals to evaluate their healthcare choices. The technology is expected to conduct online research, read reviews, compare prices, and engage providers who best fit patient needs and budgets, the release stated.
The Shop Book and Pay application of the platform transforms the way patients receive care, so they are empowered to shop, book, and pay for healthcare online as they would for any other product or service, the release said.
This application allows consumers to access healthcare provider pricing and reviews, schedule appointments, and pre-pay for services.
The Virtual Front Desk application gives both patients and staff a check-in experience by using personal devices for queue management, online check-in, and forms. Consumers are able to communicate when patients should enter the facility, which boosts everyone’s safety.
“With our partners Adobe and Microsoft, we have transformed the digital patient experience and modernized the way providers interact with consumers exploring their healthcare options,” Bill Krause, vice president and general manager, Connected Consumer Health, suite, Change Healthcare, said in a statement.
“The launch of the Connected Consumer Health™ platform increases patient engagement and streamlines provider interactions through a consumer-centric experience that arms patients with critical information and enables providers to engage and retain their patients."
Additionally, the Care Cost SE application is a price transparency and service bundling solution that allows providers to increase pre-service collections from cash and high-deductible health plan consumers.
The application aims to foster patient-provider communication by automatically reaching out to patients through text or email. A pre-filled shopping cart also books and pays for services such as an MRI, mammogram reminder, follow-up visit, or other services, the release noted.
Finally, the Digital Patient Experience Manager optimizes digital interactions between patients and caregivers, mainly focusing on patients, primary caregivers, and referring physicians, specialists, labs, etc.
The platform combines Adobe’s customer experience management (CXM) capabilities with the cloud expertise of Microsoft to address the patient digital journey by personalizing communications, transforming the way providers acquire, communicate with, receive payments from, and retain patients.
Leveraging Change Healthcare’s revenue cycle management expertise, data integration, and healthcare workflow helps meet the critical regulatory requirements applicable to individuals’ sensitive health data, the release said.
